WIA driver problem with wiaEventDeviceConnected

Hello,
I'm wrtiing an app to connect my camera to my pc and take pictures with it.
Now i want to create an event handler to see if the camera is still connected.

wiaEventDeviceConnected 

keeps giving me problems,

does anyone has a solution?
