windows forms file count

hi, how can i get the file count inside a folder based on the particular date.that means 2014-06-13 with this date i have 2 files, i am getting the file count ,for the same year same month but different date like 2014-06-14 for this date i don't have any file so i need to show the file count as 0 ,in windows forms while clicking the button.could any one help me for this.

I think this is what you are looking for. Basically, I am getting the fileinfo list in variable k and grouping it by date of creation and generating another list x that holds the date and count of files.
Now the next step is to just compare your date with the key list from x. In my case, I have chosen to go with date picker instead of text box. so you can make appropriate modifications.
DirectoryInfodinfo=newDirectoryInfo(path);
vark=dinfo.GetFiles("*.*",SearchOption.TopDirectoryOnly);
varx=k.GroupBy(i=>i.CreationTime.Date.Date).Select(g=>new{k=g.Key,c=g.Count()});
DateTime?dt=dtpicker.SelectedDate;//Youcanmentionthestringintextboxthatrepresentsdatehere.
if(x.Select(i=>i.k).ToList().Contains(dt.Value))
{
MessageBox.Show(x.Where(j=>j.k==dt).First().c.ToString());
} // else show count as 0.

hi manas, i need for both created date and modified on that date.

You need no of files which are created on that or files last modified on that data?

hello manas.
actual requirement is we have one textbox.if the user entered any date in the textbox and he clicking the button if any file is there with this date we need to show the file count as 1 in the another textbox,if there is no file with this date then file count should be shown like 0 in the textbox.this is requiremnet.in windowsforms with csharp or vb6.0 anything would be ok.
could you please help me for this

do you mean file created date, or file modified date, or name of file is date ?
