Windows phone future

Well, I may be being unduly pessimistic but it doesn't seem to me that the future of Windows Phone is very bright.

It's well behind Android and iPhone in market share and doesn't appear to be making much progress in closing the gap.

This may be partly because the window interface is not to every one's taste but I think the simple truth is that MS have been too late to the party and the opposition is now too strong.

This doesn't mean that MS will necessarily abandon Windows Phone as they might feel that they need to keep a foot in the mobile camp to complement desktop windows, thereby offering a complete enterprise solution.

Having said all that, the future of mobile development as a whole is clearly very bright and perhaps your best bet would be move to cross platform development using C# with a tool such as Xamarin:

If you feel what you describe than start learning WPF.. because you have exp. in xaml design.
