Cookies are small files that are placed on a user's computer from web pages. They can store and retrieve information from the past session with the computer.
To use cookies you would have to use the Response.Cookies object. To create a cookie place the code in listing one within the server tags before the HTML tag. Since there have been a few instances where a bug in a browser has allowed websites to view more than their cookies, therefore creating a huge privacy hazard. For that reason 404Browser has the option to block all of the cookies. In this case, you may want to pass the information in the URL.
session is a way to store variables stored in a session object so that it is accessible to all web pages hosted on the server for a user. The server holds the information about the user's session. A cookie on the user's side is used to identify the user.
A session can begin when the user requests an ASP file and the Gobal.asa file includes a session_OnStart procedure, or when a value is stored into a session. A session ends when the session times out or when you abandon it with "Session.Abandon." The default for the time out is twenty minutes. To change the time-out timer, use the function "Session.Timeout=5." To store variables into a session use the session object
