Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our production and development database servers/instances, ensuring their performance, availability, recovery, and security. You will collaborate with our Development and Test Teams to facilitate optimal releases and changes to our products. Additionally, you will work with fellow DBAs to share knowledge and insights about Daxko products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ownership. Manage DBA-related tasks for assigned Daxko Product Lines.
2. User Management. Administer production database users and permissions.
3. Backup & Recovery. Oversee backup and recovery processes for production databases.
4. Design. Create and manage database schemas and other objects.
5. Support. Assist with importing and exporting data, and support Technical Services with customer issues.
6. Collaboration. Work with Engineering and Test Teams on performance tuning and release-related items.
7. Monitoring. Monitor database servers/instances, resolve performance issues, and manage failover clustering setups.
8. Maintenance. Perform standard maintenance tasks, including server updates.
9. On-Call Rotation. Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency resolution and quality/customer problems.

Qualifications

1. Experience. 3-5 years in MySQL, AWS Aurora, and/or SQL Server.
2. Education. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3. Skills. Proficient in 2-3 database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Azure, AWS Aurora, SQL Server. Ability to read and troubleshoot query performance using SQL Server query plans.
4. Availability. Ability to work nights and weekends for on-call responsibilities.
5. Teamwork. Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
6. Attributes. Strong self-sufficiency, attention to detail, and motivation. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
7. Growth. Eagerness to learn and develop DBA skills.
