Job Description

As an Engineer IP SDN at Ericsson, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing IP MPBN/SDN nodes within a diverse and challenging network environment. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies in IP routing, SDN, and cloud architectures, ensuring network performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Configuration & Troubleshooting. Handle configuration, updates, and trouble ticket management for IP MPBN/SDN nodes. Ensure smooth operation and fault resolution.
  2. Technical Discussions. Participate in internal technical discussions to enhance network performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  3. 24x7 Support. Provide back-office fault/incident management support, initiating escalations and resolving faults efficiently.
  4. Maintenance & Monitoring. Conduct routine maintenance, health checks, and performance KPI/SLA reporting. Manage change activities and handle fault & troubleshooting changes.
  5. Customer Interaction. Interface with customers, third-party providers, and Ericsson departments to ensure process compliance and effective problem resolution.
  6. Documentation & Process Compliance. Ensure adherence to MSTOP processes and document procedures and changes as necessary.

Technical Competence

  • IP Routing & Switching. Expertise in OSPF, BGP, LDP, MPLS, BFD, VRRP, HSRP, VRF, STP, MCLAG, Trunking, Port Channel, Route Policy, etc.
  • SDN Experience. Hands-on experience with Cisco SDN (APIC controller and ACI fabric) and Nokia SDN (Nuage). Familiarity with multivendor IP MPBN platforms (Cisco, Nokia/Alcatel, Ericsson).
  • Cloud Architecture. Knowledge of cloud setups including Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, DC Gateway, Leaf, Spine, and CGNAT.
  • Mobility Call Flows. Understanding of 2G/3G/LTE/4G, VoLTE/IMS, IN, etc., and network architecture.
  • Shift Work. Willingness to work in a 24x7 shift environment.

Qualifications

  1. Experience. 4 to 7 years in IP routing, SDN, and network management.
  2. Skills. Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and a thorough approach to work. Developed communication and knowledge-sharing abilities.
