As a Full Stack Developer at IBM, you'll leverage the latest tools and technologies to deliver cutting-edge software and web applications. You'll play a key role in driving the choice of technologies as we transform our applications and experiment with new tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in JavaScript, Java-based Microservices, and API Architecture, as we are seeking to enrich our team with expertise in these areas.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and/or re-engineer complex application components, integrating software packages, programs, and reusable objects across multiple platforms.
- Maintain and improve the application's lifecycle, ensuring its continuous enhancement.
- Develop applications based on Agile methodologies, participating in requirements analysis, design, and execution of user stories.
- Conduct unit and module testing, detect and fix defects in the application, and provide production support.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, team members, designers, and other support functions.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in front-end JavaScript and back-end Java development.
- Proficiency in Microservices such as message queues, event sourcing, etc.
- Meaningful development experience in modern front-end JavaScript frameworks like React or equivalent.
- Building restful APIs and Web services in NodeJS and similar technologies.
- Familiarity with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha) for both frontend and backend testing.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodology and practices (e.g., SCRUM, Extreme Programming (XP), Test Driven Development (TDD)).
- Working knowledge of relational databases and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud-hosting solutions and CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Travis, etc.
- Understanding or experience with Cloud or similar services (e.g., AWS, IBM Cloud).

- Experience with Design thinking methods to understand personas and develop user-centric designs.
- Ability to operate within short release cycles and use modern collaboration tools in a highly responsive environment.
