Introduction
IBM, a global leader in professional services, is seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer to contribute to both front-end and back-end development processes. As part of the Data & AI Development team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining solutions within the IBM Knowledge Catalog product portfolio. This role involves working in an agile, collaborative environment, integrating solutions on SaaS and Hybrid Cloud platforms, and contributing to IBM's commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Full-Stack Developer at IBM, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, maintenance, and support of IBM Knowledge Catalog services. Your role encompasses working with client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and databases. You will use and develop RESTful APIs, work with microservices and applications in Java, JavaScript, and Node.js, and ensure adherence to industry standards for database security. Your responsibilities also include mentoring other developers, participating in design and code reviews, and contributing to automated testing and maintenance of microservices.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Expertise in Core Java, Java J2EE, and microservices architecture
- Experience in building Restful API and SDK APIs using different frameworks
- Expertise in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and Vector Databases
- Experience writing/executing Unit Tests and REST API automation
- Minimum of 4 years of commercial experience in JavaScript front-end development
- Working knowledge of React.js ecosystem including Redux, Router, React Hooks, function components
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with messaging brokers like RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, Ansible, Jenkins, Tekton, Linux Operating Systems
- Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.
- Experience with version control systems like GitHub and build tools like Maven/Gradle
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
- Experience working on a SaaS application with high industry standard CI/CD and development cycle processes
- Strong sense of ownership of deliverables
- UI test automation skills - Selenium and/or Puppeteer
- Understanding and basic experience with Kubernetes
- Experience working with customers and/or customer-facing teams
- 5+ years of professional experience
