As a Senior Consultant at Infosys, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-impact solutions throughout the consulting lifecycle. You will be involved in defining problems, proposing and refining solutions, and guiding teams through project processes. Your expertise will contribute to solution development, configuration, deployment, and client training, ensuring value-driven outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Management. Install, build, patch, upgrade, configure, and troubleshoot SQL Server versions 2008R2/2012/2014/2016.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery. Implement and manage disaster recovery plans using Always On, clustering, log-shipping, mirroring, and replication. Configure and maintain High Availability in SQL Server 2012/2016.
- Database Security. Implement database encryption and ensure secure data management.
- Maintenance & Optimization. Perform database backup, restore, recovery, update statistics, rebuild and reorganize indexes, defragment tables, and maintain replication and linked servers.
- Monitoring & Performance Tuning. Monitor instances, configure alerts using tools like Quest Foglight or AppDynamics, optimize queries, and use SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor, and DBCC Commands.
- Automation. Use PowerShell or SSIS to automate routine tasks and troubleshoot or enhance existing scripts.
- Troubleshooting. Respond to and resolve database-related issues reported by customers. Prepare knowledge articles and share insights with the team.
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in RDBMS software installation, database server builds, and maintenance.
- Experience with SQL Server versions 2008R2, 2012, 2014, and 2016.
- Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups, clustering, log-shipping, and replication.
- Strong knowledge in database encryption, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in query optimization, using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, and Performance Monitor.
- Experience with PowerShell or SSIS for automation.
Preferred Qualifications. Experience providing 24x7 support and maintenance for OLTP/OLAP database instances.
