We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and user-focused Product Designer to drive the UI/UX experience for a new, innovative hardware-software product. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative design thinker with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and a solid track record of designing polished and intuitive interfaces especially within the Android ecosystem.
You’ll work closely with the product management and engineering teams at IDC, as well as coordinate with global design partners to ensure that your solutions align with HP’s design standards while addressing the specific needs of local users.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing intuitive user experiences that align with HP’s global design language while being tailored to regional user needs and expectations.
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, marketing, and external partners to turn product vision into user-centric interfaces.
- Translating complex business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that clearly communicate design intentions.
- Partnering with engineering teams to ensure accurate and consistent implementation of designs across devices and platforms.
- Working with ISVs and white-label partners to integrate third-party solutions into HP’s product experience without compromising usability or brand integrity.
- Participating in user research, usability testing, and feedback loops to continuously refine and validate design solutions.
- Staying engaged with the global HP design team, contributing to shared design systems, toolkits, and UX documentation.
- Being a design advocate in cross-functional meetings, pushing for user-first thinking while balancing business and technical constraints.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, ideally with a focus on Android applications or hardware-software product ecosystems.
Core Skills
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and InVision.
- Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and user-centered design principles.
- Experience designing within or adapting global design systems to meet localized needs.
- Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and an ability to work iteratively in fast-paced environments.
- A portfolio showcasing visually coherent, accessible, and delightful digital interfaces.
Bonus Points
- Experience with motion design, sound design, or micro-interactions.
- Familiarity with CSS, design tokens, and collaboration with front-end developers.
- A solid understanding of designing for ecosystems where hardware and software experiences are deeply integrated.
