As a Senior Associate in AML/KYC, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing documentation for new customers/entities in accordance with established processes and procedures. Your responsibilities will include summarizing findings, identifying actionable insights, and making recommendations for next steps. You will conduct enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers/entities, analyzing entity structures, verifying bank accounts and beneficiaries, performing risk assessments, and executing due diligence procedures based on risk ratings. Your keen eye for detail and analytical skills will be instrumental in ensuring compliance and mitigating risks effectively.
Responsibilities
- Review documentation for various entities (corporations, charities, individuals) in alignment with KYC/CDD policies and jurisdictional requirements, promptly requesting additional information/documents as needed.
- Conduct thorough due diligence, identifying and addressing procedural deficiencies.
- Verify beneficial ownership and key controllers, screening for sanctions and adverse media.
- Complete reviews efficiently and within specified timelines.
- Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay abreast of regulatory updates and integrate changes into due diligence processes.
- Analyze evidence from multiple tools/systems to ascertain customer behavior legitimacy.
- Assist in monitoring and resolving incidents within SLAs.
- Resolve routine problems through established guidelines and precedents.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
- Experience in back-office work, compliance, investigation, AML/KYC, or audit review.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and digital literacy.
- Strong communication, comprehension, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in AML/KYC within fintech/e-commerce sectors.
- Familiarity with AML investigatory techniques and analytical skills.
- Expertise in periodic review of KYC records and client onboarding checks.
- Understanding of various entity types and ownership structures.
- Ability to conduct detailed investigations in adverse/negative media and transaction monitoring.
- Knowledge of AML/KYC controls and relevant tools/systems.
- Experience with sanction screening, document verification, and transaction surveillance.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with AML/KYC terminology and relevant software applications.
