We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer for a prestigious Fortune 100 organization. This 8-month contract position offers the potential for a full-time role. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining advanced data systems that drive business value. Your expertise in Databricks, SQL, Python, and Azure technologies will be crucial in designing and optimizing data pipelines.
Must-Haves
- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
- Advanced experience with Databricks platforms
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience pulling data from SAP
- Advanced experience with Azure Synapse
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts and improvements to influence decision-making
Plusses
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) downstream – making data available for the visualization team (note: no visualization building required)
- Knowledge of PowerBI – making data available for the visualization team (note: no visualization building required)
- Familiarity with Data Sphere
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, build, refactor, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Azure, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Python, and PySpark to meet reporting, analysis, and data science needs.
- Teach and adhere to DataOps and MLOps standards and best practices to enhance data system performance.
- Design and integrate fault tolerance and enhancements into data pipelines to improve quality and performance.
- Lead root cause analysis and solve problems using analytical and technical skills to optimize data delivery and reduce costs.
- Engage with business end users and share responsibility leading a delivery team.
- Mentor Data Engineers at all levels of experience.
