This role is pivotal in coordinating, managing, and executing proactive and reactive maintenance activities for the Packet Core Operations Data Network. As the Operations Engineer in Packet Core, you will ensure the continuous availability and performance of services to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.
What You Will Do
- Provide support in change management for the Packet Core Operations Data Network, including GSM, GPRS, WCDMA, and LTE technologies.
- Manage and operate vEPC (Evolved Packet Core) nodes such as MME/EPG on Virtual Platforms.
- Collaborate with multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE) to optimize Packet Core Services and Network infrastructure.
- Assess the need for system reconfigurations, make recommendations, and execute them as required.
- Coordinate with other service areas (IP and Backbone) to continuously maintain and monitor the Packet Core Infrastructure.
You Will Bring
- Technical knowledge of CORE nodes, including SGSN, MME, GGSN, and DNS.
- Understanding of Telecom Operations Practices and Stakeholder Management.
- Experience with Packet Core Nodes, specifically vEPC (Evolved Packet Core).
- Strong presentation, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to deliver results and meet customer expectations.
Technical Competence
- Proficiency in GSM Protocols (SS7, ISUP, SIGTRAN, MAP, SCCP, Diameter).
- Familiarity with GSM/GPRS/WCDMA/IN Call flows and scenarios, multiple test cases, and AT commands.
- Exposure to Packet Core Nodes of different vendors (Cisco, Huawei, Ericsson) and 3GPP TS.
Key Qualifications
- B.E / B.Tech. in Electronics & Communications.
- Experience in handling Ericsson Networks, with multi-vendor exposure being advantageous.
- Technical and/or functional skills in the Performance & Characteristics of SGSN/GGSN Network Nodes.
