We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to contribute to building the next generation of gaming experiences on Microsoft Start and Smash.gg. You'll collaborate with teams across Edge, Windows, Xbox, Bing, and other divisions to develop innovative solutions for users and partners.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and partner teams to deliver features with the right design and architecture.
- Own and deliver complete features across the development lifecycle, from design to shipping and servicing.
- Write clean, high-quality code with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Drive increased user engagement through Content Services Gaming features and improvements by leveraging large volumes of data.
- Collaborate with partner teams to drive end-to-end scenarios, supporting user growth.
- Embody Microsoft's culture of inclusion, respecting diversity, and fostering a culture where everyone can thrive.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of engineering experience owning feature design, development, releasing, and sustaining.
Preferred
- 6+ years of engineering experience owning feature design, development, releasing, and sustaining.
- Experience with technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with large-scale service development, testing, and deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality software on time.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across feature teams and adapt quickly to new areas.
- Passion for product excellence, with an interest in gaming and esports considered a plus.
Compensation. Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year. (Additional pay information available here)
