As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader within the team, driving architectural decisions and best practices. You will collaborate across teams to design, build, and scale complex systems while mentoring and guiding engineers to elevate the quality and impact of our work.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership. Provide guidance on architectural decisions, helping the team scale applications and create efficient designs that meet business and technology goals.
- Mentorship. Coach and mentor engineers, sharing your expertise to foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Best Practices. Establish and promote best practices for coding, testing, and software design, helping to improve the level of craftsmanship within the team.
- System Scalability. Work on scaling distributed systems and applications, using synchronous and asynchronous design patterns to address performance and scalability challenges.
- Cross-Team Collaboration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable products and tools. Evangelize technical solutions that improve engineering productivity across the organization.
- Conflict Resolution. Resolve technical conflicts and work to align teams with a shared vision, helping build a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Continuous Integration. Develop and maintain high-quality software, ensuring it is regularly unit-tested, code-reviewed, and checked into continuous integration pipelines.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree. BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
- 4+ years of experience in an architectural or technical leadership position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of overall relevant experience in software engineering.
- 10+ years of programming experience with languages such as Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Python, and/or Ruby.
- Experience designing and building infrastructure and web services at scale.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders and align product priorities with technical solutions.
- Expert-level understanding of software design patterns, coding practices, and testing methodologies.
