As a Software Engineer in Engineering Productivity at Google Cloud, you'll be instrumental in developing the tools and systems that enhance developer efficiency and code quality. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects that are crucial to Google's mission of advancing technology and improving developer workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain high-quality product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews to evaluate technology choices and ensure best practices.
- Review code developed by peers, providing feedback to maintain coding standards and improve quality.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation and educational content.
- Triage and debug system issues, analyzing their sources and impact on system operations and quality.
- Develop tools that improve developer velocity, code quality, and overall code health, such as compilers, automated release systems, and test automation frameworks.
- Apply experience in developing accessible technologies to enhance the usability of Google’s tools and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience. At least 1 year of experience in software development with proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Education. Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Specialized Experience
- At least 1 year of experience building developer tools that improve developer productivity, code quality, and code health.
- Experience with accessible technologies and tools.
