Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, C++, or similar).
- Typically 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in performance tuning and/or power optimization.
- Experience with Android or other Mobile platforms.
- Experience with Android framework development.
- Experience with building full-stack Android applications, ranging from building user interfaces to low-level Android libraries.
- Experience with Platform/SoC brings up.
Responsibilities
- Work on full-stack development of Wear OS, an Android-based licensed platform.
- Improve battery life of Wear OS Platform and devices through optimizations in the Framework, HAL, and BSP layers.
- Enhance the architecture of the OS for power and performance.
- Develop tools, tests, and utilities to investigate power and performance issues.
- Enable Google provided services while optimizing for battery life and performance.
- Fixing bugs found during development, user trials, or field use will improve the device's quality, functionality, and security.
- Collaborate with SoC and hardware development partners on utilizing their capabilities and generating requirements on next-gen SoC.
