As a Software Engineer on Google's Payments team, you'll be at the forefront of developing the technologies that transform how billions of users interact with information and one another. Our mission is to make payments seamless, simple, and secure—whether it's through Autofill, tap-and-pay in stores, or the Google Pay app. Your work will involve developing and enhancing solutions that handle information at massive scale, impacting both consumer and business interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in software development with one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience working with data structures or algorithms in academic or industry settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, or natural language processing.
- Experience in developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write high-quality product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate and choose the best technologies.
- Review code developed by others, providing feedback to ensure adherence to best practices, including style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage and debug product or system issues, analyzing their sources and impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
