We are seeking talented developers to join the Azure Files team, which is responsible for driving the design, implementation, and validation of Azure’s foundational file-sharing service. This service supports a spectrum of protocols, including Server Message Block (SMB), Common Internet File System (CIFS), Network File System (NFS), and Representational State Transfer (REST), ensuring seamless compatibility with on-premises file servers on both Windows and Linux platforms. We prioritize scalability to exabytes of storage alongside delivering world-class reliability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements for feature development.
• Support the identification of dependencies and contribute to the development of design documents.
• Implement code for product features while adhering to established engineering practices.
• Assist in breaking down work items into tasks and provide estimations.
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system health and recommending corrective actions.
• Stay updated with industry developments to enhance product availability, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, or Java.

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ years of technical engineering experience or Master's Degree with relevant coding experience.
• Experience with cloud storage, distributed systems, or related areas is advantageous.
