The SQL Developer role primarily involves supporting and developing database functions, stored procedures, triggers, and packages for Oracle and SQL Server environments. This position is integral to DevOps activities, collaborating closely with Business, DBA, ETL, and Data Management teams. The SQL Developer will analyze complex data-related initiatives, evaluate business requirements, and implement optimal solutions using best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- SQL Optimization. Tuning SQL queries for performance optimization.
- Application Development. Converting user stories into application logic, reports, and interfaces with other systems.
- Solution Development. Translating high-level requirements into functional solutions through iterative development.
- Validation and Maintenance. Creating acceptance criteria, validating work products, and maintaining solutions in Oracle and SQL Server environments.
- Collaboration. Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to address data load and data quality issues.
- Deployment and Support. Providing support for production deployment and addressing production issues as needed.
- Data Quality Assurance. Validating data quality in tables and ensuring individual reports meet business requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
- SQL Development. 3-5 years of experience in SQL Server, with proficiency in writing complex queries.
- Oracle PL/SQL. 2+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.
- Database Experience. Working knowledge in OLTP, Data Warehouse, and Big Data databases.
- Data Analytics. 2+ years of experience in data analytics.
- ETL and Data Movement. Extensive background in ETL, API, OLAP, and best practices for data tracking.
- Certifications. Microsoft Azure certification is required.
- Additional Skills. Familiarity with PowerShell, clustering (possibly related to server infrastructure), VEEAM (backup and recovery solutions), and Service Now (IT service management).
