We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our People Technology team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will work with a talented engineering team, developing and maintaining software solutions for Visa's business partners. As an individual contributor, you will engage in designing, coding, and delivering software while collaborating with business partners, internal IT teams, and third-party vendors.
Our portfolio includes SaaS and on-premises applications like Workday, Cornerstone, ADP, Smart Recruiters, ServiceNow, and other custom solutions. This role also includes providing application administration, user support, and resolving HR & Learning Systems integration challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new software applications, as well as enhance and maintain existing programs.
- Write high-quality, secure, and maintainable code following best practices and Visa’s coding standards.
- Perform code reviews, design reviews, and conduct unit testing to ensure code quality and system performance.
- Lead efforts to automate development processes and ensure agility in development and release cycles.
- Collaborate with development and QA engineers on individual and team deliverables.
- Document and create procedures for installation and maintenance of systems.
- Build strong working relationships with global teams and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance standards, tools, and development methodologies.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience with Microsoft .NET Core, C#, Visual Studio IDE, and TFS/Bitbucket.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Proficiency in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and Angular.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multinational, geographically dispersed environment.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues and drive them to closure.
- Experience with Agile development practices.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines using GIT and Azure DevOps.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
