Join Visa’s Global Storage team as a Systems Engineer, focusing on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). This role involves designing, testing, and documenting storage and backup infrastructure while serving as a Level 3 escalation point for existing systems. You will collaborate with global engineering teams, interact with various departments, and ensure the secure and efficient operation of our storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management. Implement and maintain Storage, Backup, and SAN infrastructure in alignment with business requirements. Ensure compliance with operational, security, and procedural standards.
- Complex Provisioning & Maintenance. Manage advanced provisioning, data replication, disaster recovery, and migration for Open Systems Storage and Backup environments.
- Technical Expertise. Support and troubleshoot complex Storage & Backup devices, including SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and Backup solutions.
- Datacenter Operations. Operate within high-security, high-availability datacenter environments, collaborating with technology domain experts to build and sustain Open Systems Storage and Backup solutions.
- Security Remediation. Assist in addressing security vulnerabilities within the Storage ecosystem.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master’s, MBA).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
- Over 4 years of experience in SAN/Storage/Backup Administration.
- Experience in large, complex enterprise datacenter environments.
- Knowledge of deploying and supporting Open Systems, Enterprise SAN, NAS, and Backup solutions in hybrid cloud settings.
- Strong background in storage networking.
- Familiarity with OS fundamentals for Linux and/or Microsoft platforms.
- Understanding of virtualization and container technologies (e.g., VMware, RedHat, Microsoft).
- Hands-on experience with AFA SAN arrays (e.g., DELL EMC PowerMax, Hitachi VSP).
- Proficiency in FC or IP networking (e.g., Brocade, Cisco).
- Experience with NAS arrays (e.g., DELL EMC PowerScale, PureStorage FlashBlade).
- Experience with Object storage solutions (e.g., DELL EMC ECS, PureStorage FlashBlade).
- Knowledge of Backup/Data Protection technologies (e.g., Rubrik, Veritas NetBackup, DELL EMC DataDomain).
- Experience with Disaster Recovery, including data replication and snapshots.
- Proficiency in scripting for Windows and Linux environments.
- Strong analysis, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
