Adobe Brings Premiere Video Editing App to iPhones

Adobe is finally bringing its flagship video editing software, Premiere, to the iPhone. The app has been officially listed on the App Store with a September 30, 2025, release date, allowing users to preorder now.

This marks a significant step by the creative software giant as it brings professional-grade editing tools directly into the hands of mobile creators—an audience that has grown rapidly thanks to platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Professional Editing, Now on iPhone

The Premiere iOS app comes packed with core features familiar to desktop users, such as:

  • Precise video trimming, layering, and frame adjustments

  • Automatic captions with customizable subtitles

  • Support for video, audio, and text layers

  • 4K HDR editing and exporting

Unlike many free video editors, exports won’t carry watermarks, making it easier for creators to produce polished content for social platforms.

Competing in a Crowded Market

Adobe’s decision comes at a time when mobile-first editing tools are facing explosive demand . Competitors are also moving aggressively:

  • Meta’s “Edits” app entered the market earlier this year

  • Captions (backed by a16z) switched to a freemium model to expand its user base

By positioning Premiere on iOS, Adobe is strengthening its foothold among influencers, short-form video creators, and mobile filmmakers.

Part of Adobe’s Larger Mobile Expansion

This isn’t Adobe’s first foray into bringing pro tools to mobile. In February 2025 , the company launched Photoshop for iOS , followed by a beta release on Android in June . Around the same time, Adobe rolled out a standalone Firefly app for AI-driven image and video creation.

The arrival of Premiere on iPhone signals a broader shift in Adobe’s strategy: making professional creativity accessible anytime, anywhere, directly from a smartphone.
