Microsoft Launches Free Bing Video Creator for AI Videos

Bing

Microsoft has introduced a new addition to its suite of AI-powered tools, Bing Video Creator. The tool enables users to transform written descriptions into concise, high-quality videos utilizing advanced generative AI technology. Initially available on the Bing Mobile App, Bing Video Creator will soon be integrated into desktop platforms and Copilot Search.

This launch marks the next phase in Microsoft's mission to redefine digital creativity. Following the success of Bing Image Creator and the recent rollout of Copilot Search, Bing Video Creator aims to make AI video generation effortless and accessible to all users worldwide, excluding those in China and Russia.

Bringing Ideas to Life Through AI

Bing Video Creator lets users create 5-second videos by simply entering descriptive text prompts. The AI, powered by OpenAI’s Sora, interprets the prompt and generates a corresponding video clip in vertical (9:16) format. A horizontal (16:9) format is expected to roll out soon.

Users can generate up to three videos at a time, and each video can be downloaded, shared across social media, or saved for up to 90 days. Creations can be made at Standard speed or at Fast speed using free credits. Users receive 10 Fast creations initially, with additional Fast credits available in exchange for 100 Microsoft Rewards points each.

How to Use Bing Video Creator?

To get started,

  • Open the Bing Mobile App.
  • Tap the menu at the bottom-right corner and select Video Creator.
  • Alternatively, type a prompt, such as “Create a video of…” directly into the Bing search bar.

After submitting a prompt, such as “a baby panda riding a bicycle in a park during autumn,” the video is generated within seconds. The platform encourages users to include vivid descriptions, camera angles, lighting, and tone for best results.

Videos can be shared via social media, email, or by copying a direct link. The platform also supports queuing of multiple creations, offering seamless user interaction.

Built with Responsibility in Mind

Microsoft has integrated multiple layers of safeguards to ensure the responsible use of Bing Video Creator. The system incorporates OpenAI's existing safety features and Microsoft’s Responsible AI Standard. Prompts that may generate harmful or inappropriate content are automatically blocked. Additionally, every video includes C2PA-compliant content credentials to verify AI generation and maintain transparency.

Expanding the Creative Frontier

This new tool enhances Bing’s role not just as a search engine but as a creative platform, enabling users to explore, discover, and express ideas like never before.
