SAN FRANCISCO / COLOGNE — August 18, 2025 — In a landmark reveal at Gamescom, NVIDIA announced that the Blackwell architecture is coming to GeForce NOW—marking the cloud gaming platform’s most significant upgrade to date  .

1. RTX 5080-Class Performance in the Cloud

GeForce NOW will now leverage NVIDIA’s powerful RTX 5080-class GPUs—featuring 62 teraflops of compute power and a 48 GB frame buffer—enabling dramatically improved graphics and responsiveness  .

2. DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation (MFG)

Powered by DLSS 4 MFG, the service will stream gameplay at up to 5K resolution at 120 FPS, and reach 360 FPS at 1080p with ultra-low latency through NVIDIA Reflex tech  .

3. Cinematic Quality Streaming (CQS)

A new mode enhances the visual experience via:

  • Rich 10-bit HDR with YUV 4:4:4 chroma sampling
  • AI-powered filters for sharp HUDs and text
  • Smooth AV1 streaming handling dynamic network conditions
  • Ultra-high bitrates up to 100 Mbps for preserved image fidelity 

4. Install-to-Play: Double Your Library

A revolutionary feature allows gamers to bring their Steam Cloud Play–enabled library into GeForce NOW—boosting the catalog from ~2,300 to over 4,500 titles via cloud storage  .

  • 100 GB single-session storage comes free with Ultimate and Performance plans
  • Add-on persistent storage is available (200 GB for $2.99/mo; 500 GB for $4.99/mo; 1 TB for $7.99/mo) 

5. Expanded Device & Peripheral Support

  • 90 FPS streaming now supported on Steam Deck OLED
  • Native 4K@120 Hz HDR streaming via LG TVs and monitors
  • New compatibility with Logitech haptic racing wheels

6. Discord + Epic Integration

NVIDIA, Discord, and Epic are trialing seamless gameplay: players can try Fortnite within Discord—no GeForce NOW account, installation, or login required—for a limited-time Performance experience  .

7. Pricing and Rollout

No changes in pricing—Ultimate remains $19.99/month (or $99.99/6-mo); Performance stays at $9.99/month (or $49.99/6-mo); annual options also planned. Rolling out beginning September 2025  .
