NVIDIA Extends Deadline for G-Assist Plug-In Competition

RTX-AI

NVIDIA's Plug and Play: Project G-Assist Plug-In Hackathon is heading into the final stretch, with submissions due Sunday, July 20 at 11:59pm PT. The global challenge invites developers, gamers, and creators to build innovative plug-ins for Project G-Assist — an AI-powered assistant built into the NVIDIA App to help optimize and control GeForce RTX systems without interrupting your flow.

Backed by the RTX AI Garage, participants have access to a massive toolkit of resources, technical documentation, and community support to fast-track their plug-in development journey.

What is Project G-Assist?

Project G-Assist is a cutting-edge AI companion designed to simplify how users interact with their RTX GPUs and system settings. Whether you're deep in a gaming session or focused on a creative task, G-Assist lets you make powerful tweaks using natural language commands — no more digging through settings menus or pausing work.

The assistant runs locally via a small language model (SLM) and is accessible through the NVIDIA App’s in-game overlay. Developers can extend G-Assist’s capabilities using plug-ins created in Python, C++, or other languages, including integrations with agent frameworks like Langflow.

Prizes and Recognition

Submissions aren’t just for bragging rights. Winners could take home:

  • A GeForce RTX 5090-powered laptop
  • A limited-edition GeForce RTX 5080 or 5070 Founders Edition GPU
  • NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute credits

Finalists may also be featured across NVIDIA’s official social channels, giving their projects the spotlight in front of a global audience.

Tools to Build and Win

To help entrants build powerful and creative plug-ins, NVIDIA offers:

  • Webinars and Q&As from G-Assist engineers like Sydney Altobell, available on the NVIDIA Developer YouTube Channel.
  • A collaborative community on the NVIDIA Developer Discord, where developers can ask questions and share insights.
  • A GitHub repository packed with sample plug-ins and step-by-step templates — from Discord and IFTTT integrations to more advanced setups like Google Gemini and Twitch.
  • The ChatGPT Plug-In Builder, powered by OpenAI, to help users build functional G-Assist plug-ins with minimal coding.

NVIDIA’s developer blog also dives deep into plug-in architecture, offering guidance for both new and experienced developers.

System Requirements

To use or develop for G-Assist, your PC must meet the following:

  • GPU: GeForce RTX 50, 40, or 30 Series (12GB VRAM minimum)
  • OS: Windows 10 or 11
  • CPU: Intel Pentium G Series or higher / AMD Ryzen 3 or higher
  • Drivers: Latest Game Ready or Studio Driver

Don’t Miss the Deadline

With just days left, now’s the time to finish your plug-in and submit your project. Whether you’re building a GPU performance optimizer, a lighting controller, or automation for your favorite app, this hackathon is your chance to shape how AI fits into the next generation of PC experiences.
