Creating Active Directory Federation Services in Windows Server 2012

Introduction

This article explains how to create Active Directory Federation Services in Windows Server 2012.

Step 1

First of all open the Administrative Tools from the Start Menu.

Now in the Administrative Tools Wizard find the option for "AD FS Management", this option will only exist if you have already installed the Active Directory Federation Services on your system. You can click on this link to find How to Install the AD FS on Windows Server 2012.

Step 2

Now the Ad FS Wizard will open, here you need to click on the link "AD FS Federation Server Configuration Wizard".

Now a Welcome page will be opened, here two Radio Buttons will be available, click on the first one named as "Create a New Federation Service."

After selecting the first option click on the "Next" Button.

Step 3

On the next page again two Radio Buttons will be available, here also click on the first one named "New Federation Server Farm".

On the next page you need to provide a SSL Certificate, this certificate was created in my previous article. Click here to learn How to Create Server Authentication Certificate for Ad FS.

Step 4

On the next page you need to provide a Service Account and its password.

The next page will show you the summary of all the selections made by you so simply click on "Next".

Now your settings will begin to be configured.
