Overview

360° Image allows users to experience the environment, the service or product at its best. With SharePoint Spaces, we can add images that can be visually experienced in 360° form.

This helps in each area – Education, Space, Science, Research, Medical, Marketing everywhere.

Let’s add the 360° Image web part to SharePoint Spaces.

Add 360° Image Web Part to SharePoint Spaces

  1. Add + icon and add a 360° image web part.

  2. Place the web part anywhere on the Space plane.
  3. This will open a file picker to pick the file.
  4. Add any 360° Image from your Document Library or OneDrive.
  5. This will add the following web part to the SharePoint Space page.

Configure Positioning Property

Now, we need to configure the following properties.

Angle

We can set the position of the web part on the space using this property.

Distance from User

How far we wish to set the 360° Image from the end-user. We can set this using this property.

Height

We can set at which height we wish to set our image from the plane surface, we can set.

Y-Axis

We can set the Y-axis of the web part using this property.

Scale

This will increase the overall size of the web part with the podium.

We can simply use drag and drop as well to configure all the properties.

Configure web part Properties

Select our 360° image web part and click on the Pencil icon to edit the web part.

This will open the following configuration property options.

Change Image

From, here we can change the 360° image file.

Using Rotation slicer, we can rotate our 360° image to set the start position.

Also, we can set a 360° image format by clicking on the “Image not displaying correctly” option.

We have the following options for 360° image format:
  • Monoscopic
If the camera you used to capture the 360° image was a single-lens camera that was placed on a rig or ring formation to make a circle, select Monoscopic.

  • Stereoscopic
If the camera you used to capture the 360° image was two cameras for each field of view, select Stereoscopic.

Details Section
Using this property, we can set Alternative Text for our web part.

Podium

We can show or hide the Podium using this property. A podium is a black box on which our web part is placed.

We can turn off the podium if we don’t want to show the podium in space.

Actions

Actions are something that is triggered when we click on our 360° image.

By default, On trigger is set as,” Enter 360° image”

There are some other actions as well:
  • Link to another space = If we have another space pages and we wish users to be redirected on another space page, use this option. Once we select this option it will ask to set another space page URL to us.
  • Play audio = Audio is a very important part of the Mixed Reality experience. If we wish to play audio when we click on the image, please choose this option.
Here, we need to provide an audio file.
  • Link to a page or item = This option redirects the user to another page or a public web site.

Once we configure the properties, republish your space page.

The web part will look like the following. When we click on the web part, it will open the 360° image.

If we want to close the 360° image, click anywhere in 360° preview and this will close our web part.
