Good article. By the way I am also developing for Android and use an SDK for this task according to the description of a page. There are code snippets provided and also one has to work with Adobe Flash Builder. The information on the page is really interesting (if interested: http://www.voip-sip-sdk.com/p_456-voip-android-integration-voip.html). It also supports iPhone and Windows Phone.
