Are Microsoft Certifications helpful for ASP.NET developers?

I have been working on ASP.NET for last 5+ years mainly on WebForms,have started learning ASP.NET MVC on my own through web and books.

I am considering on giving Microsoft certification MCSA AppBuilder path.

Will it be helpful on getting job on latest technologies like ASP.Net MVC and Azure.

Yes! they are, certifications will set your resume apart from the crowd during recruitment. Sometimes client also asks resources who are certified.

Certified Professional are always one step ahead. It will help you atleast in getting interview call. Rest is depenedent on your capability.

Certification also help you in getting overall knowledge. Normally when we work on project, we are working in similar type of work. So we are not aware of other aspect of technology. Certification will give insight to all other important topic as well.

As of now there is no certification exam for Dot Net Core or ASP.Net Core. the complete list of all exams can be found here:

Certification is really needed if you want to join in MNC Companies like Microsoft, IBM, HP etc. If you do certification from valid institute than only it will be useful.
So, if you want to do certification in Dot net, I will suggest only and only from MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) . Microsoft provides online training as well as they give the demo on an exam which they will take for certification. Multiple Certification is available, you can choose wisely. Each certificate is valuable for their own.
In my opinion for dot net developer.
For a dot net developer, basic requirement of certification is needed for both, Language and Technology.
First go with Language C#.NET or VB.NET or choose your own language there are 25 languages available from Microsoft and more than 100 from the 3rd party.
Technology, 2nd thing you have to choose is technology. It depends on your language which language you choose. As if you choose C# you can go with ASP.NET or else other.
