Crystal Reports, Visual Studio 2010, and mysql

Every tutorial I can find is on a different database system than MySQL. Does anyone know of a good tutorial I can use to get started with crystal reports for visual studio 2010 and mysql. I use a connection that is set up at run-time.

SQL Report error : There is an error in the query. Implicit conversion from data type sql_variant to varchar is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.
