i'm thinking about learning WCF. But at the moment i don't know LINQ and entity framework. I still use the old ado .net. But most of the tutorials written on WCF with back end connections have used Entity framework and LINQ. Now i'm in bit of a worry that if i learn WCF, i wouldn't be able to write WCF application to deal with backends due to lack in knowledge in Entity framework and LINQ.
1. Is it possible to write WCF application that uses old Ado .NET style db connection (without LINQ or entity framework)?
2. What are the disadvantages of writing WCF applications with old ADo .NET?
