File Name Existence before move

How To check if the similar fileName exist in the list []before the move

there are 50 file name in the list, before rewriting (move)the filename check if the list []contains the same file name; if exist show error message with out any action

Try below logic.
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;

namespace HelloWorld
{
  class Program
  {
    static void Main(string[] args)
    {
      List < string > files = new List < string > () {
         "F1",
         "F2",
         "F2",
         "F4"
      };

      if (files.Distinct().Count() != files.Count()) {
         Console.WriteLine("Duplicate file names detected");
      } else {
         //your logic
      }
    }
  }
}

      Console.Write("List...\n");
      foreach(string list in list1) {

      }

      if (list1.Contains("FileName2") == true) {
         Console.WriteLine("File exists!");
      } else {
         Console.WriteLine("File does not exist!");
      }
   }
