How to avoid special characters in textbox...

Hello friends, I do not want to enter any integers or any spl characters in my textbox control... How can i do that.... thank you very much... regards,

Hi Try this: EnableClientScript="False" EnableViewState="False" ErrorMessage="Only Letters, Numbers allowed!" ValidationExpression="^[0-9a-zA-Z ]+"> The above will only allow letters and numbers. Then on the code behind file use this. protected void btnButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Page.Validate(); if (Page.IsValid) { Do what ever need to be done here, insert into db etc } } What the above does is only allows the visitor to submit the correct data if the validation is correct. Hi, Using Regular expression validator [A-Z|a-z]* this will allow only alphabets. and rejects int. & special charaters

Use one of the key handlers and set e.handled for any key type that you don't want. If you want to do it for all the text boxes on the form, set the keypress preview property for the form and then use the form key event to filter.
