how to validate a date which is in DD.MM format

i have date format like DD.MM format that date user can manualy type.i need to prevent if user types 31.0, 31.00, 31.13 how can i check this condition? the date is coming like a string value

this is the way check once
string inputString = "2000-02-02";
DateTime dDate;
if (DateTime.TryParse(inputString, out dDate)) {
String.Format("{0:dd/MM/yyyy}", dDate);
}
else {
Console.WriteLine("Invalid");
}

In typescript you can do date validation based on regular expression

example like this :-

var pattern =/^([0-9]{2})\/([0-9]{2})\/([0-9]{4})$/;

will it work for(dd.mm)format? i am not using the system time.the request and response shoud be in dd.mm format.
