How to insert data in GridView without database and insert a

Hello,

I want to bind temprary invoice data to gridview and show the total in asp label in asp.net web application.

and after adding all items i want to save all data to database.

How to do it?

It is easy to create a datatable with desired column as per need and on button click you can push data into that datatable. You can bind this datatable value to gridview. After final save button click you can loop through this datatable and save value into database. You can also display total value on lable by loop in this datatable.

To create a datatable use the following code

DataTable dt = new DataTable();
dt.Columns.Add("UserId", typeof(Int32));
dt.Columns.Add("UserName", typeof (string));
dt.Columns.Add("Education", typeof (string));
dt.Columns.Add("Location",typeof(string));

To insert value on btnAdd or some other button click use the following code

DataRow dtrow = dt.NewRow(); // Create New Row
dtrow["UserId"] = dt.Rows.Count + 1; //Bind Data to Columns
dtrow["UserName"] = txtName.Text;
dtrow["Education"] = txtEducation.Text;
dtrow["Location"] = ddlLocation.SelectedValue;
dt.Rows.Add(dtrow);

After adding bind this datatable to gridview

gvInvoice.DataSource = dt;

To display total value in datatable

DataTable dt = new DataTable();
int sum = 0;
foreach (DataRow dr in dt.Rows)
{
foreach (DataColumn dc in dt.Columns)
{
sum += (int)dr[dc];
}
}
txtTotal.Text = Convert.ToString(sum);

There is a term called Disconnected Architecture which uses dataset/datatable to work offline (without connecting to database), you can use that and if all stuffs done then commit that data to database
