How to show 0 value if there is no record in sql

hii,

Supposer I have a Table Volunter and there are some name

Aarti,

Ankit,

Nipun,

Piyush,

Shalini Tiwari,Yogender Baroda,Nikhil which are in it

have to fetch the count(volunteer) from other table Tbl_lead.

If there is record in Tbl_lead then it will show if the name not found in Tbl_lead then it show 0 value. as below table mention. how to does so. with sql query. please help.

Volunteer	Column1
Aarti	2
Ankit	3
Arpit	2
Nikhil	0
Nipun	1
Piyush	2
Shalini Tiwari	5
Yogender Baroda	0

Fire your select query and just fire following if query after that....
IF @@Rowcount = 0
BEGIN
      select 0 as Rows
END

use ISNULL() funtion to show the 0 value if name not exists.

try like as below
select Volunter,count(Volunter) as _count
from Table_Volunter tv left join Tbl_lead l on tv.Volunter=l.Lead
group by Volunter

You can use COALESCE, which "Evaluates the arguments in order and returns the current value of the first expression that initially does not evaluate to NULL". You pass to it count(comment) as the first argument, and zero as the second:

SELECT COALESCE(count(comment), 0) as total
FROM dbo.table
