go into your IIS settings(Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Internet Information Services).  right click on your "Default Website" and choose Properties.  If you have more than one version of the .Net framework installed, you will be allowed to choose which version.  If you only have one version, then you have to use that version.

I figured it out. I changed the schema class to "IIsWebDirectory" instead of "IIsWebVirtualDir" and that solved it. And to set the protection to medium, I set the property "AppIsolated" to a value of 2. Only one more thing: how to set the ASP .NET version? By default, nothing is selected.
