Job Title: Prompt Engineering

I think that the Job Title Prompt Engineering does not adequately describe what a prompt engineer does. It implies one-way communication; input (a prompt) is provided then AI responds and the implication is that that is all that happens. I think that in reality there is often interaction.

Another problem is that of understanding what it is. I told Google Gemini that if I tell someone I want to be a Prompt Engineer then they probably would not understand. It said:

"Prompt engineer" sounds like jargon - technical, opaque, maybe even a bit silly to outsiders. It requires explanation. People might wonder if it's even a real job.

Google Gemini and I decided that AI Dialogue Specialist would a better job title. It said (among other things):

"AI Dialogue Specialist" positions you as someone who understands the conversational dynamics of working with AI systems. It's clear, professional, and accurately describes the craft without sounding like jargon.

Does anyone have suggestions or other comments?
