label1 does not exist in current context error will occur

hi,

   i use label1 in my .net design page view.aspx i write the code in view.aspx.cs page i.e)name=Label1.Text; when i used lke this the error the name Label1.text does not exist in the current context error will occur.how can i solve this.i didnt know why this error will occur.pls any one explain me.
