Making url on a web page clickable using javascript

Question

I have a jsf web application which retrieves user input data from a database. Some of the information has http,https and www. urls. I have read that it is possible to make these clickable using javascript. Please some one help. It's just taking too long to succed in doing this. The data is displayed on h:outputText.
