SDLC is an networking protocol developed, I believe by IBM, in the 1970's and is the precursor to HDLC that is a subset of SDLC that was used later in the 80's. This protocol is still used today and is very stable.

SDLC is software Development Life Cycle or System Development Life cycle.

    it contain different phases like

    1. Requirement Analysis
    2. Designing
    3. Coding
    4. Testing
    5. Implementation
    6. Maintenance.

It will support the models for developing sytem or software by using

    1. Water Fall Model
    2. Spiral Model
    3. Prototype Model

Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC) is a process of developing any software application that falls under various stages, 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Testing, 5) Maintenance. Though various software methodologies available, user can obtain a respective methodology that suits to the project. they are 1. Waterfall Model, 2. Prototype Model, 3.Spiral Model.,etc.
