Anthropic is making Claude Code even more powerful with the launch of remote MCP server support.

This update lets you connect Claude Code to your favorite tools and data sources—without needing to manage local servers. Now, you can personalize your coding environment with real-time context from the services you already use.

Claude Code Becomes Your Smart Dev Interface

With this update, Claude Code can access tools and resources provided by MCP servers, meaning it can now interact with your third-party services, like dev tools, project management platforms, and internal knowledge bases.

This allows Claude to pull in rich context and even take action within those services. Whether you're debugging code, checking the status of a sprint, or fetching documentation, Claude Code can help, right inside your coding flow.

Integration with Remote MCP Servers

You can now integrate Claude Code with any remote MCP server, and as the MCP ecosystem grows, more features and services will continue to be added.

For example,

• Connect Claude Code to the Sentry MCP server to access errors and issues directly from Sentry. This allows you to debug code using the context of those issues, without ever leaving your terminal.
• Integrate with the Linear MCP server to bring in details of your active projects.
