32-bit and 64-bit Configuration Manager

Dear Team,

My project is developed in Visual Studio 2013 with Oracle as Back-End.

Now, If I run the project on my machine (Windows 10, 64-bit), I get the following error -

"An attempt to load Oracle Client libraries threw BadImageException. This problem will occour when running in 64-bit mode with 32-bit Oracle Client Components installed."

I tried to change the settings from Visual Studio - Build - Configuration Manager - 32-64BIT / AnyCPU , but - none of the option worked.

PLease suggest if you have any other solution for this.

I am stuck up badly here.

I have placed the tnsnames.ora file correctly -> network -admin path .... How do I resolve this issue ?

Hello Team,

If I use - System.Data.OracleClient 4.0 and .NET Framework Version = 4.0; then I get error message- "System.Data.OracleClient 8.7.1 or greater is required.

System.Data.OracleClient 2.0 and .NET Framework Version = 4.0; then I get error message- "Error in loading System.Data.OracleClient Or few of its dependencies.

PLease guide... What should I do now ?

Hello Team,

I am again stuck up.

I got another error - " System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle Client Software version 8.1.7 or greater" .

PLease let me know - how do I solve this ? I googled, but all failed.

This problem will occur when running in 64 bit mode with the 32 bit Oracle client components installed.

I downloaded and installed Oracle Database both 32-bit and 64-bit ..

Do anyone know how to set the environment variables for it ?

Also, I am not getting proper ORacle Client (both 32-bit and 64-bit) to install on my machine.

My machine is - Windows 10 ; 64-bit

So, TOAD is also not working.

Hi Ridhi,

You need to open IIS pool and go to your application pool and disable 32 bit Enabled!!!,

I have installed Oracle 18c .... But... How do I install the client now ? Could anyone tell me from where can I get the client of Oracle.....

Hello,

How do we check that ?

When I installed the client version, it has LIB folder. So, it is 32-bit compatible.

If oracle libraries are 32-bit, then it won't work on 64-bit version.
