A question on skills required to be an ASP.NET developer

I am a beginner level C# programmer and I would like to learn ASP.NET once I become proficient with C#. I recently saw a job listing for ASP.NET developers that needs proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. My question is, why would a person who is proficient in JavaScript should choose to learn ASP.NET? Is JavaScript a prerequisite for learning ASP.NET? Also, if a person is good with JavaScript and some of its frameworks, can't he/she build all kinds of websites without knowing ASP.NET? Thank you.

I fyou have understanding of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript or any related framework then your job will be relevent to front-end developer. ASP.NET core/MVC platforms are backend web technologies for flexible dynamic data loading with security layer for a website instead of plain hard coded text. HTML, CSS, Javascript developed pages can easilty run by simply double clicking the .html file while ASP.NET core/MVC platforms require proper server deployments.

Learn .Net Core its latest and jobs will be more, ASP.Net jobs are less and old, and same will effect to ASP.Net MVC after some months. .Net Core 5 Preview 6 is also available now. You should learn which technologies are latest and which are demand in software industry. Microsoft may stop supporting ASP.Net after few months / years once .Net Core became more stable.

During Asp.Net, html is required for creating tables etc. CSS is used for designing purposes. JavaScript is used for validations and few other things.
But with knowing only javascript you can't achieve all things. Asp.Net provides grids and sessions but which is not present in javascript. Thanks.

Nowadays companies are looking for Full-Stack developer whi can manage front end and back end. If you have both you will get better pay. It is better to have both from end sever side like ASP.Net, java, photo Python etc. If you really need better go ahead.keep up to date with latest technologies.
