Animated Images for member's profiles can be distracting. I am referring to the image that is in the profile area at the left side of every forum post. The solution in many sites is to allow a member to turn off the showing of the images for them. So in other words, using that option, I just would not see a person's profile picture or whatever. I hope there is a more practical solution.
I know that am supposed to be impressed by a fancy flashing animation but I am not. I seem to be able to ignore fancy flashing animated advertisements more than fancy flashing animated profile pictures.

I feel a little bad about being grouchy about it. If I am the only one then I am okay. If there is a good use of animated images then it is good to use them. I wanted to say that I think there is not a need for animated images for member's profile images and that they can be distracting for me.
