asp.net login

Question

i have a requirement that when once the user login into the page and if he close the browser without logout and if he open the same link again then he don't have to login again as he has not logged out of his last session . how i can do it ?

Hi Anu, Here are some details - I had given you a condensed response: (1) If you are using the ASP.Net Login control, you can use the RememberMeSet property to allow the user to 'remember' the login Reference: Click here for MSDN documentation (2) If you are not using the built-in control and have your custom code for login, you can set a persistent cookie to 'remember the user's login. Ideally the cookie should be set with an expiration period. Here is a link to code sample for setting a cookie. Hi, If you used asp.net build login control, you can set " RememberMeSet" property to true asp : Login ID ="cusLogin" runat ="server" RememberMeSet ="true"/> If you go for your own custom authentication, set cookie like this after authentication, FormsAuthentication .SetAuthCookie(userName, true ); ~Chidhu

Hi, The thing is that when any user closes the browser the session is automaticaly cleared and sessions does not last.
