Need one favor on one estimation on asp.net project question.
If question ask to you as below what will be your answer.
If requirement is, there one form with 20 fields and your have to give Add , Modify and delete feature for this module.
What will be the your Time/ Cost estimation for the same and please tell the steps how did you arrive that Time/ Cost estimation figures

Estimations depend on many factors including
1. technology/Architecture to be used (In your case ASP.Net webforms or ASP.Net MVC)
2. experience of team members who will work on the projects.
3. Whether you need automated test cases or not.
Best way to estimate is to breakdown the tasks into smaller chunks and then estimate.For scenario you have given I believe it should be a task of 2 days including nunit test cases but again that depends the factors mentioned above. Smaller chunks would be
1. Design Webform (2hr)
2. Create database table (.5hr)
3. Create CRUD Stored Procedures (4 hr)
4. Create class for encapsulating the 40 fields (1 hr)
5. Code ADO.Net operation (2 hr)
6. Add validations (2 hr)
7. Add Nunit Test Cases (4hr)
Total comes out to be 15.5hrs roughly 2 ManDays
Assumptions Made for estimating:
1. All the fileds are to be stored in single table in database
2. We will use ASP.Net webforms (Because MVC is not suitable for such small projects)
3. The person working on it has good knowledge of SQL Server and ASP.Net web forms
