help need on calling dll

hi.. i am developing an application in vb.net for pocket pc. my application need to call a dll..i have create that dll and import into my application. but when i run the pocket pc emulator for testing, it will be give me an exception saying that MissingMethodException it seems like it cannot find the method which i have import in by the dll.. i have tested out the dll i written in a simple vb.net application.. it is working fine.. is there a special method to import dll to the pocket pc?? or there is another method to create dll for pocket pc?? i try to add reference for that dll to my project.. but it give me an error saying that this is not a .NET assembly. Pls help...advice.. thks.. regards iceman11

hi.. so how to u copy over the dlls over to the path in the emulator folder?? on the actual device how u copy/transfer/place the dll on it?? sori.. for these questions.. i actually have no pior experience in dealing with pda..so totally no idea on how to do this... thks for ur patience and help.. thks n regards iceman11

hi, I had same problem with my application while working with emulator but everythg works gr8 on actual device..with no MissingMethod exceptions. I am sure but for emulator u have place the dll's in some path in emulator folder ..as we place dll's in windows folder on actual device. Thanks, Ratna.

hi.. so does it means that i have to test out my application with that dll on the actual device itself??? btw the dll i have created is by embedded vc++ 3.0.... is it that i just copy the dll to the bin folder of that project and i connect to the device by activesync.. all the required dll will be copied over to the device for use by the application?? thks...

hi, I don't think pocket pc dll's will work with emulators ...u get separate dll's specifically for emulators. If you using custom dlls ..test the application on device/unit. Mostly Application with dll's won't work with emulator. Application will result in Missing Method Exception. I have an application which uses 6 dlls ...i had to block all the api calls for the application to run on emulator. Also it depends on which dll u are using. thanks, Ratna.
