Help on Career advice

Hi all, I have around 7 years of experience, now I am working in my fifth company, I was permanent employee in first company and rest of 4 companies on contract basis, recently I joined again on contract only, I am joining on contract only because of financial growth, In future when I want to change job again how does it impact, will I get rejected because of working on many contract jobs. Please suggest

Contract vs full-time, both have their pros and cons. A lot of it depends on you. If you contrinue to become a contractor, the key is to develop a niche skillset that is in high demand and your can ask your price. Contractors can make more money than full-time if a company really wants your skill set.

Full-time has a job security but if there is no growth in company, it may not be good.

If your aspiration is to lead a company, its better to stay long term in a company. If you look at any CEO of a large enterprise (Microsoft, Google, Adobe etc), you will see most of these employees have worked for years at that company. Not only they have been there for years but also have worked harder than other employees.

It all depends on what your goals are in life. In any case, you need to create that specialized skill that more and more companies want you.

Hi Sanjay,

It really doesn't impact if you are working for a permanent role or contract role. It is purely your personal choice if you want to continue with permanent or contract job. Until and Unless you have good knowledge, you can land your job any where.

@mahd, one of my friend worked in 8 companies, all are on contract basis, recently he met me and said after 1.5 year of gap he got new job. All recruiters was telling that you have worked on so many companies on contracts basis(few contracts was just 4 or 5 or 7 months) so we not interested in your profile

No, you will not only rejected on the basis of contract jobs.
In my personal opinion nothing impact would be there, but better find permanent job, rest is all yours.
